The program develop modern skills in the field of solar technology for youth and young adults who want to pursue their careers as a solar technician and an entrepreneur in this field. The program objective is to generate more resourceful labor and capacity building in Solar Photovoltaic sector.

What is PV?

Module 0.1 provides information about basic photovoltaic, solar energy, how the solar cells works, tools, techniques for installing, and describes the skills, attitudes, and abilities of successful photovoltaic installer. The module has introduction to entrepreneurial thinking. 

Safety with PV

Module 0.2 describes how to identify the common causes of accidents and the hazards associated with photovoltaic tools, equipment and installations. This module also provides information about how to prevent accidents and hazards on the job site by using personal protective equipment, working safely from elevated.

Electricity basic

Module 1.1 describes a variety of the electricity basics, tools and equipment, and explains how to use these tools correctly and safely. The module also provides instructions for assembling and disassembling different electricity equipment.

Solar Energy Fundamentals

Photovoltaic Module Fundamentals

Module 1.3 explains the types photovoltaic and the materials used in the module, including how to use it for property.

Photovoltaic equipment and system components

Module 1.4 describes characteristics of the equipment for photovoltaic energy, cables, tools, equipment to use. This module also provides information about where to purchase the equipment and how to make business on buy, selling, installation and maintenance.

Photovoltaic system sizing

Module 1.5 goes through the Photovoltaic system sizing. How you can scale the system to give the needed electricity. The module explains how to use tools and the electricity correctly and safely. The module also provides instructions for assembling and disassembling different systems.

Photovoltaic electrical design

Module 1.6 describes the photovoltaic electrical design. The module build on the electrician skills when the power transfers from DC to AC. How to handle AC and how to wire. 

Maintain and marked

Module 1.6 describes maintenance, mechanical design and the marked. The module goes through how to install the photovoltaic for households and small businesses. The module also describe how to maintain the solar panel and the rest of the equipment. This is embedded in the ideas of how to penetrate the photovoltaic marked.

PV Test

After compleeting all modules there is a theoretical and practical test.

The passing score for NKB standard is 70 percent or above for the module examination (performance testing is graded pass or fail). For the final test the results are on a scale. However, you need at least 70 percent correct to pass.

If a student fail the final test, he can do one or several modules again and then sit the test again.

The students that complete will achieve a certificate/diploma as photovoltaic Installers level Tec 1 (International level ISCED 2011: level 2, first year).
